The ”Keys”, an archipelago in southern Florida, was made famous by Ernest Hemingway who wrote about its beauty and Caribbean lifestyle. The ”Overseas Highway” links drivers from the continent to Key West by an amazing 180 km long road over crystal clear waters part of the way. Key West is also the most southerly point of the United States and the largest resort of the Keys. There are many places worth visiting here: the coral reef near Key Largo (in the John Pennekemp State Park), Windley Key with the ”Theatre of the Sea”, the city of Marathon, known for sports fishing, and Bahia Honda State Park offering a magnificent white sandy beach, fantastic for swimming and diving.
