South east Florida owes its popularity to Miami and to resorts such as Miami Beach, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, which are highly rated holiday destinations known worldwide. In Miami Beach, there is the marvellous ”Art Deco” district with beautifully restored houses from the thirties. Palm Beach is situated approximately 120 km north of Miami Beach, the place where the ”rich and beautiful” hang out between Christmas and Easter. Approximately half way between Palm Beach and Miami is Fort Lauderdale, otherwise known as the ”Venice of America”.
